Silver Birch (Betula pendula)
The Silver Birch is one of our favourite garden trees, instantly recognisable with its silvery bark and tall slender form.
We adore the lovely dappled shade offered by a mature silver birch tree.
These fast-growing trees thrive in any soil type with a sunny or partially shaded location, making them ideal for gardens, parks, and public spaces.
Their small triangular leaves provide beautiful dappled light, and their striking silver-white bark adds elegance. Birch trees have significant conservation value, offering food and shelter to various bird species. In spring, mature trees can even be tapped for birch sap.
They can grow to a height of 18-25m when fully mature.
At Cotswold Trees, we cultivate Silver Birch from seeds collected in our Oxfordshire woodland and offer them in sizes ranging from 30cm to around 3.5m tall.
